Roger Wilco !

As per this weekend I am ready for the upcoming “season”.  Being the lead driver on many tours its very good to be able to hear the Satnav provide me instructions.  And on the long rides to and from event, which I mostly do on my own, it is nice to have some audio-company.

Friday, I visited the yearly Motorbeurs at De Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. And saved some money on a new Interphone F5XT unit.  This is a bluetooth headset you can mount on your helmet, and which will allow you to control function and volume even with your gloves on.  Mounting it in my Scorpion EXO 900 Air Virtuose was very easy.  Done in less then 15 minutes, even without the helmet manual present.

The flip-up face part of this helmet can be removed, and replaced with a simple peak so it can be used as a jet helmet.  Makes for a little better overall picture when I switch from one of the motorcycles to the Quickly’s.  The intercom has a boom microphone with noise cancelation, and work pretty well in the Jet-mode at low speeds.

I can now use this in combo with my HP Pre3 phone, Garmin Zumo 220, and if required could equip any friends helmet with my “old” Interphone F4, so we can chat together.  Would be nice if I could find some way to convert the F4 to a headset that can be used in the backup trailer, as well …
